Nutrition 3 Day Food Diary
Jamie was born and raised in the Garden State surrounded by blackberries, tomatoes and her Mother’s famous meatballs. Food has always been a passion of hers, its color, its texture and its power to bring people together. Having been raised in a predominately Italian family, she always loved to create fantastic meals for friends and family. Over the years, she found herself wanting to learn more about food and how it affects us physically and emotionally.
Before Jamie found the field of Nutrition, she spent almost twenty years in the Entertainment industry, both in front of and behind the camera. There were countless hours and days spent on her feet, improperly hydrated while making bad food choices off the craft services and catering tables. There were highs, lows, and days she couldn’t keep her eyes open. She looked within, listened to her body and began to realize that she needed to be the change. After she began to keep a food journal, Jamie discovered that she was fueling her body with sugar, dairy and bread. It was no wonder she felt exhausted and on edge! Her curious and investigative nature led her to begin her wellness journey. She began to filter in fresh foods while keeping track of how her body responded. She started to eat more simply, and her energy was renewed. During this awakening, things became clearer to her regarding nutrition, health and wellness. Reflecting on the experience, she realized that there were many ways that she could help others. The hunger grew; she did more research, watched documentaries and spoke to people about their health concerns. It was fulfilling. Soon after, she found the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and Maryland University for Integrative Health. Jamie has since completed her formal studies in April of 2017 and currently practices as a Licensed Dietetic Nutritionist and Integrative Health Coach.
As she continues to learn more about the body and the idea of Bio Individuality, she urges you to remember this: health and wellness is always a work in progress. It's about making lifestyle changes and not about going on a diet. Jamie’s commitment to wellness is something she’s experienced first hand, and understands the personal struggles her clients encounter. With her knowledge, together you co-create personalized actions based on your goals to move you toward your ideal vision of health within your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and resources.
